HPLC capacity increases

Broughton Laboratories is delighted to expand its HPLC capacity following the installation of new HPLC systems. These systems are some of the most advanced HPLC’s on the market and following strong sales and a Gold medal at the Pittcon 2006 awards, are the first two to be installed within the UK. The systems contain many new developments that help to improve instrument performance and reduce instrument downtime.
Some of the technological advances include column identification chip cards that enforces a record of which column has been used for analysis and logs the number of injections made on each column. The systems are controlled by the latest version of one of the industries leading and most versatile chromatography data systems. Broughton Laboratories Manager Chris Allen said, “Having worked previously with instrumentation from some of the leading vendors, the ease of use and performance of these new systems out-perform any of the HPLC systems I have previously used. Peak area and retention time precision values of 0.1% relative standard deviations or less are now commonplace. The powerful data processing capability of the CDS enables us to execute even the most complicated client specified calculations within the controlled and validated environment of the chromatography data system negating the need to introduce additional and often error prone processing steps such as spreadsheets”?.
Managing Director Paul Moran added, “The new HPLC systems will form an integral part of the laboratories QC testing operations and demonstrate our commitment to quality and investment in new technology. In addition, Broughton Laboratories work closely with the suppliers’ technical centre based nearby and are on-hand to offer technical support to ensure the instruments and data systems are utilised to their full capability”.
