Analytical services
07 May 2007
Broughton Laboratories is pleased to announce the addition of the physical analysis of solid dosage forms to its scope of analytical services. Through consultation with one of our leading suppliers Broughton Laboratories are now able offer the dissolution, disintegration, friability and hardness testing of solid dosage forms. All the purchased equipment has been fully qualified to demonstrate compliance with the British, European and United States Pharmacopoeias.
The purchased dissolution bath incorporates some of the latest technology such as ‘snap on’ paddles and baskets to enable the instrument to be changed between USP apparatus 1 and 2 without the requirement to perform re-qualification and the ‘staggered start’ function that enables tablets to be placed into the dissolution vessels at timed intervals and allows them to sink to the bottom of the vessel before the rotation of the blade is started which is a requirement of the United States, European and British Pharmacopoeia.
Following the successful installation of the equipment, Broughton Laboratories’ manager Chris Allen said, “The equipment purchased is some of the most up-to-date on the market and allows us to ensure that we are compliant with the current regulatory guidelines. The purchase of brand new equipment naturally helps to reduce equipment downtime which is essential in ensuring that we meet the analytical deadlines requested by our customers”?.
